40ft Shipping Containers
Our 40ft shipping containers give you the most floor space for your money. A 40 foot box has twice the length of a 20 foot unit, yet it usually costs far less than two of them, which makes it the go-to size for bulk storage, export loads and larger conversions. This page lists every 40 foot container we sell, across standard, high cube, double door, open side, open top and reefer types.

Standard or high cube?
The extra foot of height on a high cube matters for tall machinery, racking, or any conversion where people will stand inside. For plain storage, the standard height is often enough and a little cheaper. Our high cube vs standard container guide goes through the details, and you can filter straight to 40ft high cube containers or 40ft standard containers.
Common uses
Businesses use 40ft shipping containers for warehouse overflow, farm equipment, vehicle storage and export cargo. Builders turn them into site offices, canteens and workshops. If you need doors at both ends or easy access along the side, compare our double door containers and open side containers.
Choosing the condition
One trip units are close to new and suit conversions or anything customer-facing. Used containers cost less and are fine for storage as long as they are wind and watertight. Read one trip vs used shipping container if you are unsure which grade fits your budget.
Plan the delivery
A 40 foot container needs a long, clear approach for the truck and a firm, level landing spot. Our delivery and site prep guide explains what to check before the truck arrives. Still deciding on size? See 20ft vs 40ft or browse our 20ft shipping containers, then ask us for a quote.
